Importing Audio, MIDI, and Video in BandLab

BandLab makes it easy to import your own files into a project. Whether it’s a vocal take, sample, a full track, or even video, you can drag it right in and start working immediately. This tutorial will focus on importing audio into your project.

How to Import Audio

1. Open your project in the Mix Editor.
2. Click Import Audio/MIDI/Video file.
3. Select a file from your device (.wav, .mp3) and click open.
4. It appears as a new track or region in your timeline.

Drag and Drop and create a new track

1. Select a .wav, .mp3, .mid file, .mp4, or .mov file from your computer.
2. Drag the file on the area in the arrangement view boxed by a dotted line and drop it.
3. The audio, MIDI or video file will appear as a new track.

Drag and Drop on an Existing Track

1. Select a .wav, .mp3, .mid file, .mp4, or .mov file from your computer.
2. Drag the file on an existing track.
3. The audio, MIDI or video file will appear as a new track or clip in the timeline.

Tips for Working with Imported Audio

Tips:

• For loops, make sure your imported files match the project tempo for better timing.
• Use trimming and looping tools to match the length to your session.
• Apply FX like EQ and Reverb to blend with your project.
