As part of the MuziekopleidersAkkoord, the foundation Méér Muziek in de Klas is working to strengthen the role of technology and digital didactics in music education across primary (PO), secondary (VO), vocational (MBO) and higher education (HBO). To support this ambition, a professional learning community (PLC) has been launched.
The PLC is starting with an exploration of current needs and opportunities. This kick-off session brings together a diverse group of experts in digital didactics, music technology, and related fields in music education. Muzketier is involved in the preparation of this event and one of the hosts leading it.
The session will take place at Willem Twee Studios, home to an extraordinary collection of historical synthesisers as well as measurement and testing equipment dating back to the era of Schaeffer, Varèse and Stockhausen . Inspired by this rich legacy of technology and early music production techniques, we will turn our attention to the future: What is needed to move music education forward with technology? Which steps should we take, and where should we begin?
Our hope is that this group will continue to act as a sounding board for the PLC — and perhaps even play an active role in shaping the next steps.
