For the second year, music teacher students (ODM) of the conservatory of ArtEZ, University of the Arts in Enschede (NL) will form a music education lab (moLab).
During this weekly course the students will test existing, digital technology (apps and gadgets) for use in music education in primary and secondary education. They also have to come up with new ways of using the existing equipment or software and think of innovation in music teaching. The students then have to test these innovations with the target group, using (fake) prototypes. For inspiration and support, collaboration will be established with creative technology students of the University of Twente.
During the second half of the course, the students will work on real assignments, provided by several clients (Ableton Benelux, Méér Muziek in de Klas, Netwerk Muziekdocenten Pabo). The outcome will be presented on may, 25th, 2018 (poster presentation).
MoLab will be monitored. Results will be used in the current research.
