BandLab makes it easy to shape your sound using built-in FX plug-ins. These include essentials like EQ, reverb, delay, and compression. In this guide, you’ll learn how to apply effects and control them across tracks in your project.
Adding FX to a Track
- To add an effect (FX), click “+ Fx” on the desired track to open the Fx Effects panel at the bottom of the screen.
- Then, to add an effect click “+ Add Effect”.
- Select effects from the list: Reverb, EQ, Delay, Compression, and more.
- To add an Fx preset (pre-made combination of effects), click “None v” and select from the list.
- To turn off all effects, click “Fx”.
Controlling FX Parameters
Each effect comes with adjustable settings. For example:

- EQ: Boost or cut low, mid and high frequencies.
- Reverb: Adjust size of the virtual space.
- Delay: Control feedback and timing.
- Compressor: Set threshold and ratio to control dynamics.
Tips for Clean Mixing

- Use EQ to carve space for each instrument.
- Use a short reverb on vocals to create presence, and longer reverb on pads or guitars for atmosphere.
Tip: Less is more — apply FX with intention and always trust your ears.
